The sassy, southern trio wrote every song on the album but they each bring different musical influences to the table: Lambert, who cut her teeth playing bars and festivals as a teenager, has a hard-edged, outlaw honky-tonk bent while Monroe brings a classic Tennessee country mentality. Presley, the daughter of a third-generation Kentucky coal miner, brings the bluegrass. The first single is Hush Hush.

Country Song soundtrack - Ronnie Dunn has recorded a solo track for Country Strong, a film starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw. The song is a cover of "She's Actin' Single (I'm Drinkin' Doubles)," a Wayne Carson Thompson song that was a No. 1 hit for Gary Stewart in 1975. Country Strong will be released nationwide in the US on Jan. 7. The soundtrack album will be on sale on Oct. 26.

Ryan Bingham picked up a Grammy with his singing of The Weary Kind from the "Crazy Heart" soundtrack. T Bone Burnett produced that disc, and he turns the knobs again on Bingham's third CD. All 12 songs were written by Bingham and performed by his longtime band The Dead Horses, featuring Matt Smith (drums), Elijah Ford (bass) and Corby Shaub (guitar/mandolin). The tracks on Junky Star range from narratives with imagery (The Poet), to introspective confessionals (Hallelujah) to bluesy roadhouse stomps (Direction Of The Wind) to Sticky Fingers-era Stones (Depression). Bingham previously released "Mescalito" (2007) and "Roadhouse Sun" (2009).

Jerry Lee Lewis puts out his first CD since "Last Man Standing" in 2006. The album was recorded on vintage equipment - a 55 year-old Ampex tape recorder with just one microphone - in Savannah, Ga. at the First African Baptist Church, in Memphis at Sun Studios and in San Antonio in room 414 of the Gunter Hotel. Mellencamp wrote the 13 songs included on the album during a 13-day span last spring.

The band consists of Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter and Jon McEuen. Among the songs is one about late bluegrass great Jimmy Martin.

Adam Steffey - One More for the Road (Sugar Hill)
Adam Steffey has enjoyed along career as a bluegrass player and he is out with a solo album. He was a member of Alison Krauss' Union Station and currently plays with the Dan Tyminski Band. Steffey mandolin. His first full time gig was with The Lonesome River Band in1987 and later helped form Dusty Miller. He left Alison Krauss and Union Station 1998 and a few months later began playing with the bluegrass/gospel group The Isaacs, where he would make his musical home for the next three years. In mid-2001, bluegrass group Mountain Heart called upon Steffey to fill the vacant mandolin position. He held down that post for 6 1/12 years. He has received the mandolin player of the year award five times from the International Bluegrass Music Association, and is a Grammy award winner.

John Fogerty - The Blue Ridge Rangers Rides Again (Fortunate Son/Verve)
The Blue Ridge Rangers first appeared in 1973. Only it was not really a band. it was the side project of John Fogerty. But now he is back with a band covering 12 American classics. Songs include The Everly Brothers' When Will I Be Loved, a duet with Bruce Springsteen, Rick Nelson's Garden Party and John Denver's Back Home Again. This time, Fogerty also has a band - Buddy Miller (guitar), Greg Leisz (pedal and lap steel, mandolin and Dobro), Jason Mowery (fiddle, mandolin and dobro) and Kenny Aronoff (drums).

Yonder Mountain String Band - The Show (Frog Pad)
Colorado jam band Yonder Mountain String Band returns with a 13-song disc produced by Tom Rothrock, who has worked with the likes of the Foo Fighters and Beck. But don't worry - these guys don't stray too far from their bluegrass-based jam band qualities. The band consists of Adam Aijala on guitars, Ben Kaufmann on bass, Dave Johnston on banjo and Jeff Austin on mandolin. All four sing.

The ever prolific Willie Nelson goes jazzy. This is Nelson's first album of jazz standards since his 1978 "Stardust," and his solo debut for Blue Note Records. The album features duets with Norah Jones and Diana Krall, and a backing band including Nelson's longtime sidekick Mickey Raphael on harmonica, and jazz players pianist Joe Sample, bassist Christian McBride and drummer Lewis Nash.

Gary Louris et Mark Olson étaient les leaders des The Jayhawks, mais depuis Mark Olson a quité le groupe en 1995. C'est leur 1er CD en commun depuis ce temps, et il a été réalisé aux Sage & Sound Studios à Hollywood avec leur ami Chris Robinson des Black Crowes. Gary Louris avait appelé had Chris Robinson, qui était en ville à ce moment, pour faire des choeurs sur le CD, et au final, il l'a produit. Chris joue aussi de l'harmonica.

Les deux ont commencé à jouer et écrire ensemble, puis ont fondé le groupe Roving Boy. Ensuite, Costner est devenu plus connu et ne pouvait plus consacrer autant de temps au groupe, mais les membres continuaient de jouer, d'écrire et d'enregistrer ensemble en coulisses. Ce CD propose 12 titres signés du groupe. Modern West est Coinman, Blair Forward, Teddy Morgan, Larry Cobb and Park Chisolm.

-Drive-By Truckers - Brighter Than Creation's Dark (New West)
C'est le huitième CD de Drive-By Truckers avec 19 nouvelles chansons, la plupart d'entre elles jouées lors du "The Dirt Underneath tour" au printemps 2007. Patterson Hood et Mike Cooley continuent d'être les principaux paroliers, une collaboration qui dure depuis plus de 22 ans. La bassiste Shonna Tucker y fait ses débuts dans l'écriture avec trois titres. John Neff, présent depuis le début, qui joue en invité et sur scène, est dorénavant membre à part entière du groupe en tant que pedal steel et guitariste. Lui et le batteur Brad Morgan ont tourné dans ce groupe au fil du temps.
